WE NEED YOU 12/26!
Hello and Happy Holidays!
Remember back to our first VLC meeting of this year? In January of 2024 we made a pact. We agreed we would be all hands on deck to help connect with the community to support and help those experiencing homelessness. We have hosted drives, delivered goods and shared stories of experiences at various meal distribution sites or the bus stop. Now it is time to band together as a team and put our shared values into action.
Based on the reactions to my most recent video “LifeStyle vs LifeCrisis”. I realize that the lack of opportunity to gain perspective is not limited to my peer group and that many adults have also not had the opportunity to volunteer directly with individuals experiencing homelessness. I’ve been in contact with Ruth Ministries and they are in great need of wet wipes to give out to individuals with limited ability to shower. I also checked with them about their December schedule. The day after Christmas on the 26th they will have lunch as usual where volunteers can come in from 10 am to 1 pm to help serve.
We have an incredible opportunity at Ruth Ministry on 12/26 to experience the kindness of serving the community and to bring a package of wipes. Maybe you’ll feel some new found inspiration heading into the new year that will create a will to go back to help more as I was inspired after beginning to volunteer. Or maybe one time is all the time you have, but you will no doubt gain a deeper understanding and a connection to a community found nowhere else.
