Hello Everyone,
I have a lot of positive news to share with you and an opportunity to help this week at Ruth Ministry.
Come help serve our community in need at Ruth Ministry tomorrow!
Thursday March 27th
10 am to 1 pm
Fort LauderdaleMarch Updates:
The Alcee family continues to make progress. Mom started her first day of work yesterday with a smile and great attitude. The children are all set in their room and father continues to heal from his last surgery. The Weston Rotary had a few volunteers step up to help organize their apartment with HOPE. The collaboration is a testament to the saying “it takes a village”! If you would like to continue support to this family or have items you would like to donate please let me know or reach out to HOPE to continue support. Every donation makes a difference.
Brian continues on his journey to having stability. Many doctors appointments behind him with more to go. This is a reminder of the toll that chronic stress and homelessness takes on the body and that we should all be advocates to help create the opportunity to engage in services. If you know anyone that is in need of medical care, Broward Health offers grants that cover full cost of health care including Psychiatric and Dental services. Brian has not lost his love of music and continues to teach me about various songs and the symphony. We worked together to play music with some elementary aged kids a few weeks ago. It was amazing to see the children’s faces light up as they learned how to hold a violin.
ALL FINS IN DAY!Students from NSU helped out at the Rotary House to help sort the drive collection items. 20 students and some Rotarians helped me sort, organize and create hygiene bags. We have 100’s of blankets, 350 hygiene packs, countless clothing, canned goods and toys to deliver this week to various organizations in need of our support.
Please consider joining our efforts. Teamwork is what makes this happen. I am so grateful to everyone on this email list. You all have helped make a direct impact to so many people in our county in need. Let’s keep working together! I hope you can join me at Ruth tomorrow. If you have something you would like to donate- Bring it! If you’d like to come help serve food or just sit and say hello to someone that is GREAT too! Look out for more info about our PB&J day coming soon!
Thank you all and hope to see you there!Sam
