Summer Volunteering Updates!

7/22/25

Friends,

As we move through the heart of summer—a season that often invites us to slow down—I want to extend my heartfelt thanks for the steady, compassionate support you continue to offer. Your commitment is making a real difference, especially to our unsheltered neighbors who feel seen, valued, and cared for because of you.

I am so overjoyed to share that the first lunch for the unsheltered was a success and is scheduled again for this Monday! Please join us!

Couldn’t make it? Don’t worry! There’s more to do!

-Volunteer at 5th Ave Church – Help serve lunch to unsheltered individuals and be a source of comfort and connection. This is very near and dear to me as this was developed in response to many meal centers closing.  The community needs this now more than ever.

Yes! Finally! A bus that is free of both financial cost AND judgement! All are welcome to get aboard and seamlessly commute along a very well thought out list of spots to help access services from health care to food to clothing and shelter resources.  Join us on August 1st as we launch this mobile initiative bringing vital resources directly to those in need. For details see the attached flyer.

-Donate to Ruth Ministry – They’re in urgent need of gently used shoes and undergarments. Your donations go a long way in restoring dignity and meeting basic needs. Stop by any week day btwn 9 and 2pm and if you have time to lend a hand come join them on Thursdays to help provide clothing and food to those most in need.

-Make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to drop off at food banks. Summer is especially hard to fill the food gaps between holiday time.

Thank you for your unwavering compassion, and for being part of a movement that reminds every person they’re not alone.

Thank you!

Sam
